(ETonline) Rue McClanahan has died at 76.

The beloved “Golden Girls” star suffered a stroke on Monday and passed away Thursday morning.

“Rue passed away at 1 a.m. this morning,” according to her rep. “She had a stroke on Monday, she was still in the hospital where she had been for quite some time. Last week, she told her long time publicist she was ready to go back to work. She was doing great. She didn’t feel well on Monday.”

In January, it was revealed she was in the hospital after a minor stroke while she was recovering from triple bypass surgery.
